EWCA Chapters around the world celebrated East-West Center Day on May 14, which commemorates the establishment of the East-West Center in 1960.

The establishment of a new EWCA Chapter in Nagoya, Japan was approved at the May 21, 2009 EWCA Executive Board meeting.
The Nagoya chapter will be lead by Chapter President Professor Yasuo Hoshino (OG 70-71). If you would like to become involved with the Nagoya Chapter please click here for contact information.

The EWCA Chicago Chapter invites all East-West Center Alums in the Chicago and Mid-West area to join in on an Aikido Demonstration and picnic. Please save July 11, 2009 on your calendar for this event. The details are as follows:

Time: 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Aikido Demonstration
4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Social Hour & Clean Up & Prep. for Picnic
5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Picnic (Pot Luck) and Social Time
Place: College of Lake County
Building #7 (Gym) located on Willow Way

Location: The college of Lake County is West of 94 and just west of Rt. 45 and Brae Loch Road.
Our very own Charles Tseng is a Rokudon in Aikido and he established the Lake County Aikikai at the College of Lake County in 1975. He and students will be performing the demonstration. This is a family activity, so feel free to bring the kids, teenagers, and friends. The picnic to follow will be pot luck. There will be two grills to use; so bring your main dish and food to share. Please RSVP by July 1 (and indicate if you are sharing an appetizer, salad, vegetables, or dessert) to:
