EWC/EWCA International Conference, Hanoi, VietnamDates: December 8 -10, 2006 Venue: Melia Hanoi Hotel & Convention Center Theme: "Building an Asia Pacific Community for Sustainable Development"
All EWC alumni as well as others interested in the Asia Pacific region are cordially invited to participate in the East-West Center Association’s International Conference which will be held in Hanoi, Vietnam from December 8 – 10, 2006. The East-West Center Association, which represents 50,000 government, business, and educational professionals throughout Asia, the Pacific, and the United States, is planning a major international conference in Hanoi, Vietnam. Join international colleagues in renewing acquaintances, making new professional contacts, updating your knowledge of the region, and discovering the beauty and diversity of Vietnam. The Theme for the Conference is “Building an Asia Pacific Community for Sustainable Development.” The conference will explore major issues facing the region and consider ways to assist in their resolution. In addition it will bring together chapter leaders and Association members to expand our network and energize our EWCA chapters. Invited speakers for the program include Ambassador Le Van Bang, Deputy Foreign Minister for Vietnam, Ton Nu Thi Ninh, Vice Chair for International Relations of the Vietnam National Assembly, U. S. Ambassador Michael Marine, East-West Center President Charles E. Morrison, and other leaders from government, education, and business sectors. In addition to these keynote addresses, the program will include plenary sessions, concurrent panel sessions, and poster sessions. In addition, there will be plenty of opportunity for informal networking, an opening reception and closing banquet, luncheons, and cultural presentations. The conference will be held at the five star Melia Hanoi Hotel which has excellent conference facilities and is conveniently located in central Hanoi, close to many hotels and stores. The Melia features the largest pillar less Grand Ballroom in Vietnam, nine function rooms, state of the art audio-visual equipment, and service staff providing exceptional banqueting events.
